Flat Iron Technique
Starting on the underneath section of a clean , blown dry head of hair .  Insert a one 1-inch section of hair between the plates, then squeeze the handle together and glide slowly through hair from the roots to the ends. Repeat this process working your way to the top of the head  until you're done and you'll have a killer flat straight hairstyle that others will be envious of.

Thermal Round Brush
These brushes are available in small, medium, large and jumbo-sized barrels. When used with the heat of a blow dryer, the smaller round brushes act like rollers to create curl and movement. The larger round brushes smooth locks and add body.

In both cases, the brush works because the metal core heats up, shaping the hair from the inside out. When you use your cool-shot feature, the metal core cools off. The length of your hair and the desired finished look determine which size brush to use.

as I fathom the task of describing the term ( Hair Styling )
I am overwhelmed with unlimited possibilities .

The hair styling procedure is that moment when the hair dressers work
comes together reaching its full potential in the hair dressers/artists
eyes , and seemingly/hopefully comes to life at that point.

  The stylist foundation are there
cutting / coloring and permanent wave techniques ,

the full expression of their work will come in the  final
hair style which is a  result of the above three procedures and the
procedure /technique used to obtain the final result/hair style .

I can not state enough how the hair designer is really painting a
picture .
The only difference is that the canvas is there client .

The beauty about the art of hair designing is that the hair dressers
canvas changes shape and design on its own even after the
artist has finished .

The hair styling techniques and products we use today are different
from the ones we used five years ago ,
and will continuously ( and have been ) changing throughout history
as the stylist needs change .

as our world changes and our life's change styles change with them .
Not just hair styles , all styles , fads and movements .
rotation of the planets, positive and negative pulls , etc .
If it seems like I'm getting a little scientific, I am .

Science and Mathematics play a huge role in the artists/hair dressers
final results . So as you can see , the world of hair styling
is so huge that i could never put into words the full picture ,
as even I can not fully comprehend its vastness . Am I crazy ?  hmmmm  ,
well , I'm a hair dresser right !

the round brushing technique is tricky . To do it right the hair dresser must fallow certain procedures to assure the proper outcome ( shiny straight hair ).

First , wash and condition the hair . Then , apply a small amount of straightening balm to the hair and distribute evenly ( no straightener is better then to much straightener , so go easy on the amount of product you use to straighten hair with a round brush or a flat iron ) you will want to start your straightening from the underneath or bottom sections of the hair . Pin the hair up and start your round brushing from the bottom . You can take three to five inch sections across the head depending on the thickness of the hair .
Its hard to explain the round brushing technique the video on this page shows it pretty well . Basically you want to pull on the hair and hit it directly with the heat of a hot blow dryer . The bristles on the round brush and the ceramic or metal base will heat up and combined with your pulling on the hair will produce a shiny straight look .Some hairstylist choose to use the air concentrator attachment on there dryer for this procedure as seen on the video .If you want you can remove some of the moisture from the hair with a towel or by pre blow drying some ( NOT ALL )
of the water out of the hair before starting your round brushing . This will help to save you time .
